The client’s vision is to develop a hotel with 3-star facilities including a swimming pool, bar, banquet hall, and suite rooms, and to operate them at the cost of a basic serviced apartment Moreover this project is not a green field development but a site with an existing foundation designed for a community hall and commercial spaces. Another input from the client is to design a facade that reflects the medieval era of Europe. The engineering challenge is to design and coordinate MEP services in a building with an existing foundation and to construct a swimming pool on the terrace The design criteria are driven by this complex and contradicting context and client’s vision. We have tried to reflect these parameters in the space planning and form generation exercise. The end product is a special building that reflects all the aspirations and visions of the client.
