This Project has been conceptualised for an expat from Bangladesh as a home after retirement. His aspiration is to dwell in a home which constantly communicates with the ambiance of Sylhet and hence bring back the nostalgic memories of his life. Also the spaces shall be designed to enable interaction among other members of his family.
In order to make his dream come reality we decided to generate a form that invokes symbolism, without compromising the other design criteria’s, including maximizing communication with the site ambiance A series of alternating stepped triangles influenced by van Kosch curves, have been interplayed to create optimum interactive spaces both within the building and the exterior skin to maximize the interaction with the family members on one hand and communicating with the site context on the other hand has been achieved.
The diverse requirements of the projects helped us in creating a unique built form that avoids any sense of globalization.
